The Saturday show on March 24th, at 2:00 p.m. will be a fundraiser for Grad Night Live. All ticket sales for that show will go to Grad Night Live, so that the Seniors of Fillmore High School can again have a safe and fun way to celebrate graduation. This is a good way to help out a good cause, and have some fun doing it.
The cast of... this great show is, Blanca Ayala, she will play Leanne, Dakota Galarza as Dedawen, Gabby Munoz as Dunnwindy, Hans Berghamp as Luke, Jessie Ponce as Danny, Anastazsa Octavia as Sarah, Ale Posada as Jenie, Maddy Munoz as Eddie, Brandy Nisbet as Madame Lucinda, Drew Ferguson as Bob, Dillion Galarza as Gavin, and Joe Woods as Barry.
"I am very proud of the cast and crew." said the Writer, Producer, Director Josh Overton. "They have shown so much dedication and love to this show, to bring it to life."
Speaking of the crew, the hard working people behind the production are of course The Leader of the show Mr. Josh Overton as the Writer, Producer, Director, without him there would be no show. His Assistant Director is Lisa Munoz, Second Assistant is Jessica Givian, Judy Fairall is in charge of costumes and props, Stage Manager is Tim Overton, who has put together a stage and set second to none that this town as ever seen.
When asked what this play is about Josh said, "It is meaningful. It speaks to the youth and the pressures of everyday life.” Josh added, "It’s about a young girl, in a tough time in her life. She is at a cross road. She finds the help of her "Guides" to get her through this path she must take."
This will be the fourth time Josh will do this production of "Guides" The first time was in the year 2000, in Ventura. Then again in 2002, 2007, and now in 2012, in Fillmore. "This was my first attempt at a more serious play. All my other ones where Melodramas," said Josh. "Even if you have seen this play, you need to see it again, because this is an intently more envisioning of the play."
Folks let me say a few things about this play. This is the sixth play I have been in for Josh, second time I have been in the cast of "Guides". The hard work put in by all the cast and crew is unheard of. The countless hours working on this are out of love for the arts. The time that we spend working with the people that work on a project such as this is a true joy. The great work that Josh does with the youth, yes, and some of us old folks is nothing short of amazing. Imagine what the youth would be doing without the help of Josh to teach them and turn them on to the fine arts. This is a way to get involved and do something in a positive way. In so many ways, you can say that Josh is a great "Guide".
"We as a School District are in need of funding for the arts, which makes it more important, now more than ever, that we support the efforts to our students in school related activates." Josh added, "The arts are alive and well, and looking to thrive in the City of Fillmore. So come out and be entertained, and support the local arts!"
Okay Fillmor,e now it is our turn. Go out, make it a night or day out with some friends and loved ones. See a great show at a very good price. Be entertained. Then go tell somebody about what you just saw. This is a great way to have fun and support a great cause at the same time. With the Fillmore High School Drama and The Sespe Players, along with Josh Overton, you cannot go wrong!

Dear Parents and Supporters of FHS Athletics:
I am writing to you to inform you of a very serious funding challenge that we are facing at Fillmore High School. As you may be aware, we are no longer able to require our athletes to pay fees for participation in sports. As a result we have had to rely on donations to fund our athletic programs. We calculated that if each athlete donated $75.00 per sport we would be able to maintain our current athletic program as it has been in the past. Unfortunately, as the fall athletic season comes to a close, we are behind in our anticipated donations by approximately $10,000.00. Our biggest concern is that if we don’t do something immediately to generate funding, we may run out of funds in the middle of the year, forcing us to cancel away games and the possible elimination of lower level (Frosh/JV) teams. This is something we do not want to have to do.
In order to avoid eliminating athletic programs and travel, we have taken immediate action by freezing all athletic supply budgets, and we have asked the Athletic Booster Club to assist us with organizing three major athletics-wide fundraisers. Our goal is to provide our athletes with an opportunity to raise money each season if they are unable to make a donation. We will be asking for your full support to make each fundraiser a success.
Parents and community members wishing to make a donation may do so by mailing a check to Fillmore High School Athletics - Donation, P.O. Box 697, Fillmore, CA 93016. Your donation is 100% tax deductable. Any amount will be accepted. Please include the student name if you are making the donation to support a specific athlete.
With your help, we can raise the funds necessary to provide our students with a quality athletic program. Thank you in advance for your support.
Sincerely,
John Wilber
