Connie Jimenez Golson '58

     Connie Jimenez Golson passed away on January 26, 2010 at the age of 69.  She was born Decermber 29, 1940 in Santa Barbara to Joseph and Virginia Jimenez.  Both of her parents were from early Spanish families. Joseph was a member of the Jimenez family of Carpinteria and Virginia was of the Olivas and Lorenzana families of Ventura and Ojai.

     Connie grew up living on the Bates Ranch in Carpinteria and attended local schools.  In 1952, her family moved to the Camulos Ranch in Piru where her father was an irrigation foreman.  Since then the Old Adobe on the ranch has been named one of California's Historical Landmarks.  She graduated from Fillmore High School in 1958 and enjoyed going to class reunions to gather with her school friends and talk about things that used to be.  She alo attended Ventura College for a short time.

     Connie married Ron Golson of Piru and had three children.  While serving his duty in the Air Force, Ron and the family lived in Camarillo, Reno and Colorado

Springs, CO.  Connie and her children later returned to Piru where she held different jobs including being a waitress at the Piru Cafe, making leather goods at Bucheimer and Clark, then working at PPG.  Recently, Connie was employed at Eli's Store in Fillmore where she enjoyed visiting with the customers.

     Connie is survived by her three children, Ronald of Texas; Colette and

Annette of Fillmore; brother, John (Yolanda) Jimenez of Ventura; seven grandchildren, one great grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

     Visitation was held on Friday, January 29.
